In a high-rise building, a young man got up from his bed and stretched while looking at the rising sun.
A small frown touched Singto's lips as he looked back at his empty bed. If he was in his room at the palace, Krist would be there smiling up at him. Then, his fiancé would get up from the bed and hug him before tiptoeing for a sweet kiss.
After a few minutes of making-out, the younger male would whisper a soft ' I love you' and leave.
That was how his Monday mornings were.
Willing himself to think about something else, he picked up his phone. Four messages were plastered on its screen. All were from Kao.
"Let's eat breakfast."
"Hey, let's eat breakfast together."
"Sing I know you're awake. Let's eat breakfast, okay?"
"Tay and I are waiting for you at my family's resto. Move your ass and eat with us."
With a sigh, he did exactly what his friend 'asked' him to do. He took a quick shower and tossed a shirt on with a pair of walking shorts completed by gray loafers.
In his simple clothing, no one would ever think that he used to be the crown prince. He was the crown prince until a couple of nights ago.
Well, that was all in the past.
When his gaze swept on his bed, Singto sighed. Krist was also his past. Whatever it was he thought he had, whatever it was he hoped he'd have with the younger male- they are all in the past.
Now, he needs to have breakfast with his friends and plan out his life to get rid of his past.
Cold eyes stared down at Serra as the crown princess smiled at her 'fiancé'. Disregarding the quiver of the female's lips at his unwelcoming presence, Krist raised a brow at her.
"The royal subjects are asking when you'll start work-"
"Why would they ask about me? As far as I'm concerned, I'm no longer officially linked to the royal family."
"Of course they'd ask about you! You're the future king!"
"King?" His brows furrowed at the title. "I don't want to be king. I never aspired to be royalty to begin with."
Serra forced a laugh. "Who wouldn't want to be king? Come on, Krist. You can have anything if you-"
"Are you blind, Serra? Or do you find my family's home small? Money is nothing but cold metals and pieces of papers for me. The power of the royal family is nothing but a big lump of responsibility I have no intention of getting my hands into unless it's with Singto."
"Singto's already gone. My brother left the responsibility to us. He'd be disappointed if he finds out that we didn't take the opportunity he painstakingly lef-"
"Stop with your lies!" Krist couldn't stop himself from raising his voice. He had always seen Serra as a good friend. Someone who was like a sister to him. He never thought that she would be the reason why he lost his chance to be with Singto.
If she didn't spout lies after lies, the wedding bells wouldn't have been far away for him and his prince.
They were getting there. . .they were getting closer than they ever did before.
"I was only-"
"You knew I like your brother. For heaven's sake, I was sharing my woes with you! How could you use my sleeping disorder to-"
"I'm sorry!" The princess cried. "I'm sorry. .. sooo sorry. I knew you like him but I was the one who loves you the most. My brother doesn't care for you the same way-"
"I know!" Fuck if he doesn't know. "I'm fully knowledgeable of where I stand for Singto but we were getting there. I was almost there!"
"You were getting nowhere-"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" An angry shout stopped the princess.
Serra bit her lower lip to hold herself back from shouting back at the older woman who suddenly arrived and placed a placating hand on her son's shoulder.
"You are not welcome in our home. Unless you have a decree from the king or his queen ordering us to allow your visit, you are to stay out of our house and out of our lives."
"Auntie I-"
"My son has more pressing matters than what you came for."
"The kingdom needs a ruler! I can only be a queen if there's a king besi-"
"That's none of our concern. The north has always been independent from the royal family's influence and as the richest family in this area, we don't care whatever mess you have out there. My son will not be forced to take on a role he doesn't want to have."
Serra pitifully looked at Krist, silently begging him to help her.
Coldly, he stared straight back at her. "I don't give a damn about the throne. If I can't have Singto with it, then, it doesn't mean anything to me."
Mouth agape, Singto couldn't believe what was waiting for him when he got back to his flat.
He must be drunk. . .there was no way-
"Singto. Why are you standing there?" Krist's whiny voice beckoned him towards the siren's calling.
Like the powerless male he was, the ex-crown prince found himself step closer towards his bed where the irresistible temptation known as his ex-fiancé lay. Throwing the blanket away from his body, Singto almost swallowed his tongue when he saw Krist in nothing but his white shirt and boxers.
"I missed your shirts." The vixen murmured while sniffing at the sleeves of his shirt. "Your boxer's a bit loose but it will do since I don't have anything with me."
Coughing, Singto looked away from the younger male's bare chest. "Button your shirt."
"Whatever for? You'll take it off me later o-"
"Krist!"
"Singto." The little devil chuckled. "I missed calling your name."
"Krist this is-"
"Why didn't you answer my calls? Why didn't you tell me where you were staying? Why didn't you-"
"Krist. You know tha-"
"No. I don't know. I didn't know what happened or how this shit happened. You left me. I don't know why but you left me."
"Krist-"
"Stop calling my name! I want-"
"Serra. I know. Ever since the engagement I knew you wanted her. You were in love with my sister and I was getting in your way."
Dazzled doe eyes blinked in confusion.
"What?"
Singto roughly ran his hands over his hair. "I knew all along that you're in love with-"
"With you. I am in love with you."
"I'm sorry? You said you're-"
Hands fisted on his shirt, Krist hauled him towards his body and fervently kissed him. It didn't take long before Singto found himself owning the kiss and pushing the. younger male down on his bed to bring their bodies close together. Desperately tasting the ambrosia he never thought he'd ever have again, Krist needed to push him for a second to catch his breath.
"I think that was more than enough proof of what I said earlier." Krist fake glared at him. "You forgot I was the one who proposed when we were kids, didn't you?
"Huh?"
The younger male sighed in exasperation. "You're too forgetful for your own good, Singto."
They were getting there. . .they were getting closer than they ever did before.
